My least favorite of the Bridgerton stories. Penelope's is the best scene and the book isn't even about her!
I am 1000% for the Archive of Our Own version of Benedict's story where he has an actual personality and the conflict is so much more believable. #BenedictAndHenryGranville4Ever
It’s not my least favourite (that would be Daphne’s) but it’s kinda blah. Sometimes I think about how I would rewrite some of the Bridgerton stories. It’s a fun pastime, haha! I’ll have to look up the one you mentioned.
That might be a fun newsletter installment - broad strokes of how you'd fix some of the problematic/boring ones. Speaking of problematic - Benedict's stupidity about class issues and utter lack of empathy for Sophie's position (dare I say his...bullying ...of her?) is another reason this one falls flat, but I also just don't like Cinderella stories lol.

The more I think about each story, the more nitpicky I get. These books are meant to be frothy so I don’t know if that’s fair. But I might do an imagined rewrite of one of them just for fun. You’ve convinced me ;)
